Hunter Perkins

Gaston

Senior

Me- So what is your plan for after high school

Hunter- So I plan on taking a year to go to community college NHTI getting my gen e.d. done, and then. transferring to a university afterwards, after i save some money. and hopefully. go into performance, ok. What's your name? My name is Hunter perkins. okay.

How has theater affected you?

theater has affected me in numerous ways, but the biggest way i think. it's given me somewhere to be like in something to look forward to, and in my life, that's super important because i don't like my time being wasted, so for me to ah. I have the opportunity to go somewhere where I want to be and do something that I want to do and be passionate about it. i feel like it's very important .

Me- What made you join the theater.

Hunter- So we're going to take it back to when i was younger. I watched the movie, Peter Pan and I was like, wow. whoever is playing Peter Pan is hot. yes, and I was like, wow. I could do it. That's something that I could do. so then i was like my parents. i want to do this, and so then i got put into this random acting company. and ever since then, i've just been like this, but what i know, and this is what i want to do.

Me- How do you balance theater in school?

Hunter- do you! .So. I have three blocks during the day. So with my schedule, I tried to. use that time during the school day to do homework and stuff like. because usually I have a rehearsal at night . so. yeah, i guess just trying to find time outside of rehearsal because rehearsal does not necessarily come first , but when you're there, you're there to rehearse. yeah, i just try to find time to do school that answers the question.

Me- what has theatre taught you.

Hunter- theater has taught me. that you need to stay true to who you are, because a lot of the times when you get thrown into roles and stuff like that. finding out who you are can become confusing and. I feel like everybody has to go through that to understand what they like, what music they like. what they like outside of theater, because you are not theater, you just do theater. yeah, finding that balance is very difficult to attack, so that's. theater has taught me that.

Ryan Giard

Beast

Freshman

Me- what is your plan for after high school after high school

Ryan- Jesus in the number of things I've considered, i have sort of a few different colleges, military service. a mixed bag for me at this point

Me- has any of that been like theater wise

Ryan- Yeah, I'm not sure I want to go into it as a full fledged career, but. definitely kind of like. maybe. as a kind of secondary thing

 How has theater affected you?

Ryan - As i said, I became more open up when I first got here. I was like i don't think I can be in the cast. But, now i'm in the lead role

What do you love the most about theater?

Ryan - It's hard to say part of it is just the people. I mean, theater kids. I just name some names, anything I could probably say that's positive.

Me- yeah, i would say like the community also like, i think. shows doing shows in general, there's a lot of fun shows.

Ryan- Practicing pretty hard sometimes depends on your role, but in general. just rehearsal is pretty fun.

How do you balance theater and school?

Ryan- I just. sometimes it just kind of falls into it naturally, like days that are pretty. I've never really had days that don't work for me unless it's a chance thing.

Me- what has been taught to you so far. yeah.

Ryan- I've become, just like I said, more open and better socially. taught me more about. obligations, then I did before coming in.

Cassidy Copp

Mrs. Potts

High School Graduate

Me- So how has this affected you.

Cassidy- Well, i'd say it was probably a safe space for me from when i was little because i was just really like singing and dancing and stuff. and i don't know, i wouldn't really do it at home because i've always lived in apartments, and it was fun like annoying and stuff. it was nice to find like that the inner family that makes sense like theaters. just like a little family at school

Me- what made you join theatre.

Cassidy- oh, it's basically for singing and then stuff. acting is also pretty cool

Me- what do you love most about theater.

Cassidy- being able to be somebody else for a while, okay, especially someone who's not who i am in real life

Me- How do you balance theater in my life

Cassidy- i try to make time for theater in general, but i wait till i have days off, and then that's when i go and do theater or i change my work schedule around it because i have flexible jobs and

Me- what has theater taught you so far

Cassidy-yeah, you never really know what's going on with somebody. if you don't talk to them and it's pretty easy to put on that and be somebody that you're not, so you should just be welcoming and like everybody has their own thing. you should be open to it and let them be part of your little family, you know. Thank you.

Brianna Romiglio

Silly Girl

College Graduate

Me- How has theater affected you?

Brianna- oh. so i started theater in high school. and it's actually where i met my whole entire group of friends, and i've been doing shows ever since my first one, which was in. tenth grade, i think my sophomore year. and i still do theater to this day, and now i'm on the production team of an actual theater company, and i've seen Broadway shows. I had gone to New York because of the theatre so it really affected me.

Me- what made you join the theater.

Brianna- my friend was actually in it, and i did the sound floor for one of the shows because they needed help, and then i was like, hey. i wanna be on stage, and i've been doing it ever since .

Me-  what do you love the most about theater.

Brianna- hm. i'd have to say the community.

and how do you balance theater in life

Brianna- that's hard, but a lot of directors are usually flexible with me because i work a lot. it's hard, but when you have a passion for it, you just figured out, i guess. and what has they had taught you. mm. it sounds cliche. but theater has taught me to be myself because i actually left cheerleading for theater. and so i just found myself happier, and it helped me show my voice. i guess thank you.

Fin Gilman

Flatware

Freshman

Me- how has  theatre affected  you,

Finn-  it's made me more confident. and it made me like it. kind of go through the path of like what i want to do in life, okay.

Me- what made joint theatre,

Finn- mostly my friends encouraged me, but a lot of action movies when i was little. encourage me, you know, i get that. um,

Me- what do you love the most about theater

Finn- dancing.

Me- what has theatre taught you.

Finn- what theatre has taught me to really come together as a group and like support each other, okay,

Me- do you have any plans for like after high school in those a long ways away, but like.

Finn- yeah, so far. My plan after school is to become an actor. no, I like that. Have you thought about any schools or anything like Plymouth State University?

Chelsa Sasserson

Silly Girl

High School Graduate

Me- what is your plan like right now  so for like the future, yeah, for the future,

Chelsea-well, i'm going to an NHTI next year to get my gen eds , but my end goal is to transfer to a larger school out of state for musical theater, awesome

Me- How has theatre affected you?

Chelsea-I might  cry, well, i was very like. a lonely, awkward kid in the theater, kind of like gave me like a place and a purpose, and it's like, oh, I needed here. i have to be there, so it was like, oh, like i have a people who need me. and now that i'm older, it's like i just really liked telling stories and. doing it in front of people, you know. i don't know. because like lots of the theater, i engage with like really deeply impacts me, and i like the idea that i can do that for other people, other like weird, lonely kids like me

Me- yeah, no, i get it. oh. What made you join the theatre.

Chelsea- actually, my middle school was doing beauty in the beast, junior. and it was my favorite movie ever. bell is my girl, so I was like I have to do it and I was a silly girl. number four, i was an added on. and that's how it started, and i just kept doing the school shows, and then i did a community production of carry the musical in eighth grade way, too young to be there, but i was like, i love this, and i would do like three shows at a time in school all the time, and it was like my priority. That's really cool.

What do you love the most about theater?

Chelsea- I really like telling a story and getting to like embody someone who's not myself and. and getting to learn about different perspectives and ways of life from theater.

Me- how do you balance  theater and life?

Chelsea- so i'm good at balancing theater and like my personal life. and there's a lot of my friends do shows with me what i'm bad at was like when i was in school, i was terrible at balancing theater in school because i made a decision, i was like theaters my priority, i don't need a school. and then that kind of came back to me, but i was able to find the balance. i guess it's like. learning to pick and choose like you don't have to do every single production that comes along, you have to like, think about like, will that show specifically be a good experience, what will i get out of it and weigh the pros and cons before just jumping in, .

and what has to do to taught.

Chelsea- um, you look at all, i guess, to like. always think about like what another person's going through and always look at things from others perspectives because like i may think a certain way and can judge some of actions from where im at. but another person like that person has a different reason for doing it like i've played villains before, and you have to like the villain and understand why they do things. so i guess, like not judging people so quickly and like putting more thought into understanding why people make the choices they make um. thank you. okay, thank you.
